Code of Conduct

Only registered migration agents can legally give immigration assistance in Australia. To do this, they must be listed on the Register of Migration Agents, held by the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority. Be careful of unlawful operators pretending to be registered migration agents. Registered migration agent is obliged to act in the best interests of their clients. Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA) administers the professional standards and obligations

Code of Conduct

The Migration Agents Code of Conduct is set out in legislation to regulate the conduct of agents. It prescribes agent obligations towards clients. Provision for a Code of Conduct for migration agents is set out in Section 314 of the Migration Act 1958 and is prescribed in Schedule 2, Regulation 8 of the Migration Agents Regulations 1998. Copies of code of conduct are prominently displayed  in Agents’ office and client waiting area and are also available to clients on request. Code of conduct can be downloaded from MARA website.
